Soundsekerta 2017 has been successfully held in Melbourne Town Hall, Saturday (16/9). This event is an annual concert held by PPIA Monash University. This year, Soundsekerta 2017 takes the ‘Harmony in Diversity’ as the main theme. Soundsekerta invites RAN, Isyana Sarasvati, and Project Pop as guest stars.

The event started at 7pm and was opened by a performance from klaudspirits and singing Indonesia Raya conducted by Grace Yolanda. After that, speech from the president of PPIA Monash University, followed by the project manager. And then, Madame Dewi Savitri Wahab gives her speech as the Consulate General of Indonesia in Melbourne.

Then, Isyana Sarasvati performs first. She sings the songs from her newest album, which titled the Voice of Paradox. My personal favourite is when Isyana sings the Winter Song and Sekali Lagi. She performed Kau Adalah in a duet with Rayi RAN, which made the audience sang-along with them, and one of her greatest hits, Tetap Dalam Jiwa came next. After Isyana performed, there was a break for the door prize announcement and some short games.

Next, RAN performs on stage. RAN performed12 songs, ranging from their old songs like Pandangan Pertama until their newest songs, like ‘Mager’ and ‘Salamku Untuk Kekasihmu Yang Baru’, which is RAN’S new song collaborating with Kahitna band. When RAN performed, the audience sang along with them. RAN also covered the song Andai Dia Tahu by Kahitna.

After RAN performance, it was Project Pop’s turn. Before Project Pop performed on stage, there’s a short game where I participated. The game was singing one of the guest star’s song, and I sang ‘Tetap Dalam Jiwa’ by Isyana Sarasvati.

Then, Project Pop performed their hits songs like ‘Goyang Duyu’, ‘Pacarku Superstar’, ‘Dangdut is the music of My Country’, ‘Bukan Superstar’, and for the closing they performed ‘ Ingatlah Hari Ini’. It was a great evening, and everyone had so much fun! Thank you PPIA Monash University for organizing this. (ed/qs)
